Pic o the Day
This coyote’s been hanging around the neighborhood – and specifically, the back yard – kind of frequently in the past couple of days. He (she) wouldn’t stay still when I had a clear line of sight, so I had to shoot while it was on the run. Problem there is that it was a cloudy dawn and there wasn’t a whole lot of light. Compound that by the fact that I’m shooting with a 2X converter on a 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom (effectively shooting a 400mm f/5.6 lens at f/9 at an ISO of 800), and you get the surprising exposure time of 1/4 second. Initially, I was disappointed, knowing that it was going to be a blurry shot, but once I actually took a look at it, I thought it was pretty cool.

I live in this neighborhood and see these animals frequently as well. I have seen this photo in person and find it very creative and amazing. You are clearly a talented photographer.
Thanks Florence!
